Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections during a crucial meeting on Tuesday.
Governor Douye Diri, who leads the party in the state, convened the expanded stakeholders’ gathering at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall in Yenagoa.

The gathering marked the first such meeting since he assumed leadership of the Bayelsa APC in October 2025.
Senator Konbowei Benson, representing Bayelsa Central, moved the motion for the endorsement, which former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and ex-Deputy Governor Peremobowei Ebebi seconded.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Diri expressed deep satisfaction with the party’s newfound unity, stressing that the Bayelsa APC now operates as one cohesive family committed to securing President Tinubu’s re-election.
He urged members to embrace forgiveness, humility, and internal cohesion, while warning against bitterness and divisive tendencies that could hinder peace and development in the state.
Adding further, Diri emphasized the need for restraint among those harboring political ambitions, advising them to prioritize the party’s collective interest for now.
“Here we are today as one big APC family,” Diri stated. “I appreciate the old members for their warm reception. Political parties are vehicles for development. Let us truly be progressives. Our priority is to ensure President Tinubu returns for a second term. Power comes from God.”
Senator Lokpobiri, in his remarks, noted the party’s renewed unity, stressing a singular objective: delivering APC victories across all levels in 2027.

APC Caretaker Committee Chairman Dr. Dennis Otiotio lauded the governor for reconciling factions after years of division, adding that the meeting also mobilized members for the ongoing electronic registration exercise.
Prominent attendees included APC Caretaker Committee Chairman Dr. Dennis Otiotio; Senator Benson Agadaga (Bayelsa East); Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Heineken Lokpobiri; Niger Delta Development Commission Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku; Niger Delta Basin Development Authority Managing Director Prince Ebitimi Amgbare; and South-South APC National Working Committee Ex-officio Hon. Godbless Diriware.
The gathering observed a minute’s silence in honor of former Bayelsa West Senator John Brambaifa, who passed away on January 3, 2026, in Abuja.
