BASG releases N60m to 1,000 healthcare volunteers

Bauchi state Governor has released the sum of N60 million as palliative to healthcare volunteers across the state.

One thousand volunteers who are working in both primary and secondary health care centres across the state will be paid N10,000 for a period of six months amounting to N60m.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka while presenting the cheque to the Permanent Secretary ministry of health Alhaji Abubakar Usman Misau, commended the Governor for the palliative to the health care volunteers.

The Commissioner who was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Shuaibu Alhaji Muhammad, explained that the gesture was to appreciate the efforts of all the volunteers who renders voluntary services in all the health care facilities.

The Commissioner further states that the gesture is to complement government effort was acknowledge by the state Governor Bala Muhammad.

The commissioner further states that base on this reason the Governor approved the release of the fund to serve as palliative to improve the living standard of the volunteers.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of volunteers, permanent secretary of health Alhaji Abubakar Usman lauded the forsight of the Governor and promised to ensure equitable distribution of the fund.
