Bandits strike again in Niger communities, residents feared killed
Some Communities in the Gurmana ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State have again been attacked by gunmen.
This came about 24 hours after the kidnap of the students of Government Science College, GSC, Kagara.
The villages Wednesday evening attacked were Sarkin Zama, Bakin Kogi (Lagbe), Siyiko, and other adjoining villages.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the villages in their large numbers.
The operation, which reportedly lasted for hours, was said to have recorded some casualty.
Details of the extent of casualties suffered by the communities had yet to be confirmed as of the time of filing this report.
Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Kokki, told newsmen that some died while others who sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries were rushed to various health facilities for medical attention.
Kokki said scores of others were also abducted and taken to unknown destinations.
