Suspected bandits have abducted nine worshippers at Ojije in Utonkon, Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.
The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edet Udeme, confirmed the incident on Monday, February 9, 2026.
Udeme disclosed that the victims were abducted during a vigil at St. John’s Catholic Church.
The police spokesperson added that the command had deployed all the tactical teams in Benue State in the area to ensure the worshippers’ safe release.
