Azman plane has burst tyre, blocks Lagos Airport runway, as FAAN temporarily halts flight operations

There were reports Tuesday night that authorities at the Murtala Mohammed Airport have shut down the facility due to blockade of one of the runways by an AZMAN plane.

The aircraft, which reportedly obstructed, having developed a fault on ground, flew in from Abuja.

Accirding to THE WILL, the aircraft overshot the runway at the domestic terminal while trying to taxi to a stop.

The vessel was crippled in the process due to a burst tyre.

Passengers successfully disembarked from the aircraft with no casualty recorded.

Although the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had yet to issue a statement as of the time of filing the report, an airport source hinted that agency officials were busy making efforts to tow the aircraft away from the tarmac.

Flights into the MMA Lagos airport had, as of press time, been temporarily suspended.
