APC’s Danjuma Shekwolo wins Kuje Area Council chairmanship election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, has won the chairmanship election after scoring 17,269 votes to defeat his closest rival, Danlami Zakoyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 15,824 votes.

The declaration was made by the Kuje INEC Returning Officer for the 2026 FCT Area Council election, Professor Nkiruka Celestina Odoh of the University of Abuja.

Ten political parties contested for the chairmanship position of the Kuje Area Council.

The results are as follows: Party A – 24 votes; Party AA – 5 votes; ABC – 716 votes; ADP – 84 votes; APC – 17,269 votes; APGA – 4,305 votes; APM – 58 votes; NNPP – 175 votes; PDP – 15,824 votes; SDP – 25 votes; while ZLP scored 6 votes.
