[Press Release] The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has withdrawn from the Local Government elections slated for this Saturday, January 18, 2025.
As the ruling party in Ondo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) views this decision as a clear indication of the PDP’s lack of confidence in their ability to participate in a free and fair electoral process.
We are not surprised by the PDP’s withdrawal, as it is consistent with their recent pattern of behaviour. The APC is committed to participating in the elections and is confident that our candidates will emerge victorious.
We urge the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) to ensure that the elections are conducted in a transparent and credible manner and that the will of the people is reflected in the outcome.
The APC is committed to deepening democracy in Ondo State and will continue to work towards the betterment of our citizens. We call on all eligible voters to come out and exercise their franchise on Saturday.
