A former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Cairo Ojougboh is no longer a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
His membership was upended in a June 7, 2023 letter of expulsion by the party’s National Legal Adviser, Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, Esq and life bencher.
El-Marzuq said that earlier reports were that Ojougboh’s initial expulsion was rescinded on the grounds of lack of fair hearing.
He however said that a review of the case of anti-party activities levied against him was unassailable.
He said that it was confirmed, shortly after his earlier suspension was nullified, that Ojougboh had in fact, taken the party to court without exhausting the internal conflict resolution mechanism.
He said Ojougboh’s action thus violated the provision of Article 21.5(v) of the party’s constitution.
