There was a total confusion at Osun State Government House in Osogbo, Tuesday, as members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, most especially the delegates in the 31 Local Government areas of the state alleged that the party leadership is planning to manipulate them.
The delegates who were called to an emergency meeting at the Government House in Osogbo Tuesday morning had gathered as early as possible.
According to them, the purpose of the meeting was not stated in the messages sent to them by the party hierarchy. They were only asked to show up at the Government House.
Moments later, angry delegates stormed out of the hall in protest. They said they were told to sign documents, which they susoected to be results sheets, but no names were on it.
They said they members refused to sign the documents and demanded to know the names of the winners. This made the delegates to believe that they wanted to overrule the democracy of the people and replace the winners of the election with another candidates.
The delegates stormed out in fury in disappointment and protested that the will of the people should be the rule and demanded that the results should be announced as the election was free and fair.
“Delegates did not vote. It was the direct primaries. Why asking us to sign results sheets? They are thieves. They want to manipulate the results and we will continue to resist that. The choice of the people should be announced. We can’t sign blank results”, one of the delegates from Ila Local Government told newsmen.
