The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has dismissed reports suggesting a looming crisis or the possibility of a parallel congress in the state.
In a statement released by the party’s Media and Publicity Director, Steve Otaloro, the APC described the claims as misleading and deliberately designed to create tension within the party and misinform the public.
The party emphasised that there wss no division, faction, or plan for a parallel congress in Ondo State, stressing that such a development was alien to the culture, discipline, and democratic traditions of the APC, especially in a state where it is the ruling party.

The statement reaffirmed Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the undisputed leader of the APC in Ondo State, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to serve as the National Leader of the party.
According to the party, the leadership structure is well-defined, respected, and grounded in constitutional provisions, which all members are duty-bound to uphold.
The APC also refuted claims that the Governor or his aides were compiling or imposing lists of party executives. The party insisted that all ward, local government, and state congresses are conducted according to established national guidelines, which encourage inclusiveness, consultation, and consensus-building at all levels.
Otaloro further addressed allegations that key stakeholders or party leaders had been sidelined, calling them “entirely false.” The APC maintains that it is a united political family where every legitimate stakeholder is recognized and accorded due respect. Alleged rivalries or supremacy battles among party leaders were described as fabrications aimed at creating imaginary divisions.
Assuring party members and supporters, the statement emphasized that the forthcoming congresses will be free, fair, transparent, and credible. “Governor Aiyedatiwa is a firm democrat who strongly believes in the rule of law, due process, and democratic tenets. Every party member will be given a level playing ground to participate in the congresses in accordance with party guidelines,” Otaloro said.
The APC in Ondo State concluded by urging members and the public to disregard the circulating rumours, describing them as attempts to distract the party from its focus on internal democracy and the delivery of good governance to the people of Ondo State.
