APC Ondo preaches unity after Eid, says “no victor, no vanquished” ahead of 2026 polls

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on members to set aside primary election differences and rally for “total victory” in the 2026 general elections, using the Eid-el-Kabir celebration as a springboard for unity.

In a press statement issued May 30, 2026, the party congratulated Muslim faithful in Ondo State and Nigeria on the peaceful observance of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir festivities and the public holidays declared by the Federal Ministry of Interior.

—“Unity, sacrifice, tolerance”—

APC Ondo Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, said the festival reflects “the enduring spirit of religious harmony, tolerance, sacrifice, and national unity that continues to bind Nigerians together despite political and economic challenges.”

“The Eid celebration reminds us of the importance of unity, sacrifice, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence as a people. These values are not only essential to nation-building but are also critical to the continued growth and success of our great party in Ondo State,” Babatunde stated.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for promoting religious inclusiveness, national cohesion, and democratic stability.

—Beyond primaries to 2026—

Babatunde urged members across Ondo’s 18 local government areas to remain united now that party primaries are concluded.

“There is no victor and no vanquished within our party. What is paramount now is unity of purpose, reconciliation, mobilization, and collective commitment toward ensuring the success of all candidates flying the APC flag in the coming elections,” he said.

The chairman added that the primaries should be seen as an internal democratic process “aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the larger task of securing overwhelming victory for APC and consolidating the developmental strides of the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.”

—Call to stakeholders—

The party also called on stakeholders, youths, women groups, and supporters to work together “in the spirit of brotherhood and political maturity” to sustain APC’s dominance in Ondo State.

The APC prayed that Eid-el-Kabir would bring “renewed peace, prosperity, political stability, and greater cohesion to Ondo State and Nigeria at large.”

The statement was signed by Otunba Muyide Adeyeluwa, Publicity Secretary, APC Ondo State on May 30, 2026.
