Newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has dismissed the relevance of opposition parties in Nigeria, claiming the APC currently faces no real political challenge.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today shortly after his emergence, Yilwatda downplayed the influence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserting that none pose a threat to the ruling party.

“There is no opposition for now,” Yilwatda stated confidently, adding that recent off-season governorship elections in Edo, Ondo, Kogi, and Imo states reflect the waning strength of opposition parties.

Yilwatda, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, insisted that the APC remains dominant nationwide and is unshaken by the performance or presence of rival political parties.
