The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as chairman of a 73-member central coordination committee for its 2026 national convention.

The party disclosed this in a statement by Surajudeen Basiru, APC national secretary, and Sulaiman Argungu, national organising secretary.

According to the statement, the committee would oversee all preparations for the party’s 2026 national convention.

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, governor of Kwara State, was named vice chairman, while Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe State, would serve as secretary.

The committee is made up of serving and former governors, senators, members of the National Assembly, and other party leaders from across the country.

Among those listed are Godswill Akpabio, Senate president; Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the House of Representatives; Adams Oshiomhole, former APC national chairman; and Abdullahi Ganduje, former Kano governor.

Other members include Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dikko Radda (Katsina), Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).

The APC said details of the committee’s inauguration would be announced later.

The party also released a revised schedule for its congresses at ward, local government, state, and zonal levels.

E-registration of members: January 31 – February 8
Ward congresses: February 18
Local government congresses: February 21
Appeals conclude: February 23
State congresses: March 3
Zonal congresses: March 25
National convention: March 27 – 28

● Nomination Fees

The APC also announced the cost of expression of interest and nomination forms for party offices at all levels.

National chairman: N10 million
Deputy national chairman: N7.5 million
National secretary: N7.5 million

The party said female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities would pay for the expression of interest form and 50 per cent of the prescribed nomination fees for each position.

The APC also disclosed that Ekiti, Osun, Rivers states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would not participate in ward, local government, and state congresses, but would only elect three delegates each to the national convention.
