Residents of Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State have lynched a suspected bandit following a failed kidnapping operation in the area.

The incident occurred in Yargeda community on Friday night, December 12, 2025, when a group of armed men reportedly stormed the village and abducted three residents.

Sources said the assailants were moving their captives through a forest route when they passed through neighbouring Rini village, where their movement attracted the attention of locals.

The residents were said to have mobilised quickly and confronted the kidnappers, forcing them to flee.

While most of the bandits escaped, one suspect was captured during the chase.

The suspect was reportedly tied up by the mob and later lynched by the angry crowd.

His body was subsequently hung on a water tank structure within the community.

The incident was confirmed on Monday, December 15, by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the development.
