Amnesty International Nigeria Amnesty condemned the Saturday crackdown on protests and the arrest of 3 protesters in Kaduna.
The International human right watch group called on authorities to respect and protect the right to freedom of assembly and released those arrested immediately.
“Amnesty International condemns crackdown on protests and the arrest of 3 protesters today in Kaduna by security forces.
“We call on authorities to respect and protect the right to freedom of assembly. Those arrested most be released immediately,” the group said.
The group also asks the Nigerian authorities to do more to end the incessant killings in southern Kaduna and investigate all previous violence in the area. “Perpetrators must be brought to justice and lives must be protected in southern Kaduna and other parts of Nigeria facing frequent violence,” the group said.
