The Aiwerioba Ugiogo Grammar School Old Students Association has brought joy to students of their alma mater in Ugoneki, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State. The association donated 50 pairs of school uniforms, five customized exercise books, and Oxford sets of mathematical instruments to each junior secondary school students numbering over 50 who were yet to have one. Additionally, 29 senior secondary school students also received free mathematical instruments.
This kind gesture, motivated by a passion to revive the school’s lost glory, has brought smiles to the students’ faces. When the alumni arrived at the school on October 2, 2025, many junior students weren’t wearing uniforms due to lack of supply. However, after receiving the donations, their appearance transformed, and they looked like “good-looking students.”
Students named Theophilus and Emmanuelle from JSS 1 expressed their gratitude to the alumni, praying for continued blessings. The Vice Principal, Ehiosun Andrew, representing the principal, appreciated the generosity, noting it’s the first time since the school’s inception. He appealed for more donations, specifically chairs and desks, as the current ones are insufficient.
The Vice General Secretary of the alumni association, Mrs. Itohan Ogiogo, stated that the association aims to assist students and restore the school’s former glory. As this act of kindness will not only provide essential resources but will also inspire students to strive for greatness. She encouraged others who have benefited from their alma mater to give back to their communities.
The alumni association’s efforts demonstrate the power of giving back to one’s community.
