President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has expressed sadness over the death of a renowned philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President described the late billionaire as a man with a good heart.
He said the late Aminu Dantata’s love for humanity was expressed in his unwavering commitment to the plight of the poor and the less privileged.
His philanthropic activities remain indelible in the annals of this nation.
“I know Alhaji Aminu Dantata as a very ingenious and generous man, who made his fortune through hardwork and industry; he contributed immensely to the development of Kano State, Northern Nigeria and the nation at large”, he stated.
Akpabio commiserated with the family, the people and government of Kano State, and the business community in Nigeria, saying they have lost an icon, a worthy mentor, and grandfather.
Indeed, the late Dantata was an institution on his own and deserved to be emulated and also immortalised, he said.
“On behalf of my family and constituents, the Senate and entire National Assembly, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the late Dantata’s family, the people and government of Kano State on the loss of this great man
“I pray that the Almighty God will have mercy on his soul and grant him aljanna firdaus in his kingdom,” the Senate President was quoted to have said.
