The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has claimed that the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, is hospitalised and extremely incapacitated.
According to him, Akeredolu is in a state of “extreme incapacity.”
THE CONCLAVE, however, reports that Adamu spoke on a day Akeredolu reportedly had a telephone conversation with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume.
A source close to the development told THE CONCLAVE that Akeredolu was upbeat during the telephone conversation.
The source who was not privy to what Akeredolu discussed with Akume on phone, said it was true Akeredolu was sick, but it was not to the extent of the National chairman’s description and or claim.
The ailing governor had, as believed, called to brief the SGF on how he is responding to treatment and to extend his gratitude for federal government good wishes.
Whereas the telephone between Akeredolu and Akume took place on Monday night, Abdullahi Adamu had earlier that day in Abuja during a meeting with APC chairmen across the country spoken on Akeredolu’s health.
On June 7, Akeredolu had embarked on a 21-day leave and was expected to return on July 6.
The governor had also on Monday written to the Ondo State House of Assembly, extending his medical leave.
Adamu was reported to have said: “We regret to announce the extreme incapacity of the Governor of Ondo State, who we understand has been hospitalised overseas.
“We wish and pray for him for a speedy recovery.”
