Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has described the death of Captain Hosa Well Okunbo as an exit of a colossus.
In a statement he personally signed, on Sunday (August 8, 2021), Agba said he received with shock the news of the sudden demise of an “incomparable human being, Captain Hosa Wells OKunbo.”
Agba said the passage of Capt. Hosa was “a painful loss not only to us in Edo State but also the country at large,” adding that “his death has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill.”
He added that Capt. Hosa made a very huge difference to the lives of countless people by his philanthropy.
Agba said despite his wealth, Capt. Hosa’s humility, selflessness, strength of spirit and deep sense of purpose made him a national icon, a revered symbol of humanity, and a source of inspiration to many people.
He said with his death, Edo people had lost one of their greatest sons.
Read him: “Our people have lost a colossus and a philanthropist par excellence.
“A guiding light has been extinguished; a philanthropic colossus no longer bestrides our world; but his legacy will live forever.
“I therefore extend my profound condolences to his wife and children and to all Edo people as we all mourn the death of Cappy, as he was popularly called.”
