Immediate past Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, and frontline governorship aspirant in Edo State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has commiserated with the family of the late governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwatotimi Akeredolu, on his passing.
In a letter dated December 29, 2023, to Mrs Betty Akeredolu, the late Governor’s wife, Agba, entitled: “Commiserations”, Agba said that “Arakunrin’s exemplary stewardship in our darkest hours, when the people were confronted with seemingly unsurmountable challenges, showed a unique blend of bravery, intellect, tact compassion, and sensitivity rarely seen today.”
Read the letter reproduced, hereunder, in extenso: “I received with a heavy heart the news of the passing of my brother, His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
“My family and I feel personally diminished by this tragedy; we can only imagine the pain you and the family are currently experiencing.
“We are comforted by the memory of the life he lived and the examples set. His, was a life of service to humanity. First, using his gifts as a lawyer and most recently as an administrator.
“Arakunrin’s exemplary stewardship in our darkest hours, when the people were confronted with seemingly unsurmountable challenges, showed a unique blend of bravery, intellect, tact compassion, and sensitivity rarely seen today.
“History and posterity will be kind to him, with his good works, and unforgettable memories.
“May the good Lord console you and grant you and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“We will sorely miss Arakunrin, but let us stand strong for one another in this time of shared grief, and pray continually that the Almighty grants his gentle soul eternal repose in His Bosom.”
