The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has officially opened a multipurpose hospital in Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government Area.
The facility boasts 80 beds and aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the people of the state.
Representing the Governor at the inauguration was his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi.
During the ceremony, Governor Adeleke expressed his gratitude to the federal government for their support in making the project possible, specifically through the Sustainable Development Goals Office (SDGs).
Governor Adeleke hailed the federal government for its generous contribution, emphasizing that the hospital was a significant step towards delivering high-quality and affordable healthcare to the residents of Osun State.
He extended his appreciation to the outgoing President of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, for his commitment to the state and for playing a key role in realizing the project.
The governor highlighted his administration’s dedication to the health sector, citing a recent medical mission across the nine federal constituencies of the state that provided medical assistance to 22,000 patients.
Addressing the welfare of healthcare workers in the state, Governor Adeleke assured them that his administration placed their well-being as a top priority.
He said the recent approval of hazard and other allowances for resident doctors at UniOsun Teaching Hospital, which had yielded positive results.
The governor proudly stated that Osun State was unaffected by the recent national warning strike led by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARDs).
In a goodwill message, Mr Femi Adesina (OON), the facilitator of the project and Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, expressed his gratitude to all those involved in making the project a success.
He especially acknowledged Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire (OFR), the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, for including Ipetumodu among the beneficiaries.
Mr Adesina urged the State Government, under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke, to continue their positive initiatives for the betterment of the state and ensure the smooth operation of the hospital.
The Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba (Prof) Joseph Olugbenga Oloyede, commended Mr Femi Adesina for his efforts in bringing such a valuable project to their hometown.
The Apetumodu expressed great joy and urged the residents of Ipetumodu and its surroundings to make the best use of the facility.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including royal fathers hosted by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Joseph Olugbenga Oloyede, the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu.
