ADC’s presidential aspirant, Dumebi Kachikwu demolishes Abuja property of Senator Araraume’s son

Founder of Roots Television and presidential aspirant of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Mr Dumebi Kachikwu, has demolished the Asokoro, Abuja property of Mr Obinna Araraume, second son of billionaire politician, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Dumebi Kachikwu is the younger brother of a former minister of State for petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu.

He grounded his Saturday, April 16, 2022 action on a purported court order.

His claim of a court order authorising the demolition was however not substantiated as it was not produced during the operation that left the family members of Obinna Araraume traumatized.

The boys’ quarters and the rear fence that separated Obinna’s property from Kachikwu’s plot on which he is building a structure were pulled down.

The vibration reportedly shook the main building to its foundations, causing some cracks in the wall and compromising the structural integrity of the building.

Also, in the process, items of property worth millions of naira were either damaged or missing in the destroyed boys’ quarters.

Kachikwu, THE CONCLAVE reports, stormed the place on Saturday, accompanied by some thugs and SSS operatives who were purported to have undertaken an unauthorised assignment of giving protection to Kachikwu in the course of the demolition.

The FCT command of the SSS has disowned the SSS operatives.

THE CONCLAVE learnt that whereas the Command assigned some operatives to give Kachikwu protection in the course of his electioneering, he decided to use them for purposes other than officially indicated.

In a swift riposte, the Development Contol Department of the Federal Capital Authority Devopment, FCDA, has sealed off the property that Kachikwu is developing.

It was marked “OUIT” by the FCDA on Saturday, April 16, 2022 hours after the demolition and consequent upon a formal report by Obinna Araraume.

The FCDA said it was not aware of any court order that Obinna’s property should be demolished.

While Obinna’s property is situated on Udi Hills Street, Asokoro, and backing the DSS headquarters, Dumebi Kachikwu’s property at the back, which is on Dumebi Kachikwu Close, is overlooking DSS headquarters.

Kachikwu, as learnt, owns all the posh buildings on the close, purportedly built on green areas, which was why he applied for the close to be named after him.

Besides, the location is said to be of security concerns.

An uncompleted building immediately after Kachikwu’s sprawling property, was said to have been stopped about 12 years ago by the DSS because once built up, it would overlook its headquarters.

The crux of the matter between Obinna Araraume and Dumebi Kachikwu was a two-meter allowance in between both plots (backing each other) that Kachikwu insisted belonged to him.

In an interview, Obinna Araraume said that the two-metre allowance was contained in the sales agreement by the original owner of the propert.

He said all the property backing Dumebi Kachikwu’s plots were deemed to have been protected by the clause in the sales agreement when he (Dumebi Kachikwu) bought the sprawling property.

He said he was surprised that four years after he bought the property and agreed to the terms in the sales agreement to respect the two-metre allowance, he turned round to claim the two-metre allowance.

Obinna Araraume said he would file a legal action against Dumebi Kachikwu this week.

He confirmed that he was in the swimming pool with his children when Dumebi moved caterpillar to site to demolish his protective fence and boy’s quarter, leaving his children traumatized.

THE CONCLAVE could not, as of the time of publication of this report, reach Dumebi Kachikwu for his side of the story.
