The African Democratic Congress has mourned the death of Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu, a former House of Representatives member from Jigawa State, who was killed after being abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
In a statement on Wednesday, the party said it was deeply saddened by the incident. ADC described Adamu as a dedicated public servant known for humility, integrity, and commitment to grassroots politics.
Adamu represented the Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011. The party said he was respected for his calm nature, accessibility, and focus on the welfare of his constituents.
“This is a painful loss not only to his immediate family and Jigawa State but to the entire ADC,” the statement said.
The party prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give strength to his family.
ADC added that the incident highlights the worsening security challenges facing the country.
The statement was signed by National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
