ADC Chieftain Petitions EU In Brussels: “Tinubu Submitted Forged Certificates To INEC”

Brussels became the latest battleground in Nigeria’s 2027 political war on Friday.

Barrister Kalu Kalu, chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Nigerian lawyer, walked into the European Commission headquarters and submitted a formal petition against President Bola Tinubu.

His allegations: certificate forgery, non-disclosure of education history, and subversion of Nigeria’s constitutional democracy.

—THE CORE ALLEGATIONS—

Kalu told EU officials that Tinubu violated Section 137 of the 1999 Constitution by submitting documents to INEC for the 2027 elections that allegedly omitted his primary and secondary school history.

“Good afternoon to the whole world. I am here at the European Commission to submit a petition to the European Union concerning the subversion of constitutional order in Nigeria, where President Bola Tinubu has suspended the constitutional order in Nigeria,” Kalu said.

He further alleged:
1. Forged academic credentials submitted to INEC
2. Failure to disclose primary and secondary school records — “in flagrant violation” of the Constitution
3. $460,000 forfeiture linked to a historic U.S. narcotics case
4. That the Tinubu administration has “captured all the power in Nigeria” and “imposed himself on Nigeria”

“Section 137 says if you have presented a false certificate to INEC, you will not be qualified to run in the election. And he has submitted false documents, false certificates to INEC that made him not qualified to run for the 2027 general elections,” Kalu argued.

—WHY BRUSSELS?—

By taking the petition directly to the European Commission, Kalu says he wants international scrutiny from the EU over what he calls a threat to Nigeria’s democratic stability and constitutional order.

He is asking the EU to take note ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
