Elisha Abbo, a Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in Adamawa State at the Nigerian 9th National Assembly on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has defected to the ruling All Progressives (Congress APC).
Abbo announced decision to decamp in a letter to the Senate which was read out by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at the start of plenary on Wednesday
He further said he has realised that no president in Nigeria has paid attention to the welfare of its citizens like President Muhammadu Buhari, ctiting the Trader Moni and other programmes as example.
“I hearby defect from the PDP with effect from today, 25th November, 2020,” part of the statement read.
In the letter, Senator Abbo explained that his decision to defect to the APC is because of the mismanagement of the PDP in Adamawa State by Governor Umaru Fintiri.
Senator Abbo has been in the news for assaulting a woman in an adult toy shop in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Few weeks ago the lawmaker was asked to pay N50 million for assaulting a lady at a sex shop in Abuja.
