Abu-Inu Umoru, Apostle Suleiman, Dan Orbih, Prof Duna receive Auchi Poly Fellowship awards

 

Four prominent sons of Edo State, Chairman of Setraco Nigeria Limited, Chief (Dr) Abu Inu-Umoru, founder of Omega Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, National Vice Chairman (South-south) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Dan Osi Orbih and Engr. Prof. Samson Duna, have been awarded Auchi Polytechnic Fellowship awards at the institution’s combined 26th/27th combined convocation ceremonies, which held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 on the institution’s campus in Auchi.

Rector of the 61-year-old institution, Dr S.S. Umar said on the occasion of the anniversary and convocation that the Academic Board conferred the Fellowship on the quartet because of their unwavering commitment to excellence and their immense contributions to the development of humanity in their respective fields, which served as an inspiration to the institution.

According to Umar, “You have shown that true leadership lies in dedication, compassion, and selfless service, and we are proud to confer upon you the honorary fellowships of Auchi Polytechnic.”

The events were witnessed by prominent Nigerians including former Governor of the State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Regional Minister for Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, and Minister of Education Dr. Morufu O. Alausa.

Umar in a speech on the occasion said: “Today marks a momentous occasion in the rich history of Auchi Polytechnic as we gathered to celebrate the brand finale of our 61st Anniversary and 26th – 27th combined Convocation Ceremonies of our great institution. I am proud to be part of the incredible journey this institution has undertaken and the significant milestones we have achieved together.

“I congratulate all our graduating students who are receiving their Higher National Diplomas and Certificates today. You have persevered through the challenges of academia, demonstrated resilience, and showcased remarkable talent. As you step into the next chapter of your lives, remember that the skills, knowledge, and values instilled in you during your time here at Auchi Polytechnic will guide you towards greatness.

“The inauguration of state-of-the-art lecture theatres, well-equipped classrooms, advanced workshops, our new main gate, Auchi Polytechnic Microfinance Bank, the Cottage Hospital extension and the ground breaking ceremony for a state-of-the-art foundry workshop etc. marks a significant stride in our commitment to providing a conducive and progressive environment for education.
