An era of robust public communications at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has ended somewhat abruptly with the disengagement of Mr Olufemi Soneye as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer.

Consequently, the new management of the NNPC under Bashir Ojulari, is set to announce a new spokesperson.

In a statement he personally signed, Soneye said that he would no longer be the spokesperson for the oil giant as he had “stepped aside from his role as Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd.”

This, he said, would “allow me to devote more time to my family and attend to personal responsibilities that now require my closer presence.”
