Former Edo State Commissioner, Abdul Oroh, has declared his intention to return to the National Assembly to represent the Owan Federal Constituency.
Oroh, who served in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, received a unanimous endorsement from leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 22 wards in the constituency during his declaration.
The endorsement was moved by Chief Alidu Ovbiotse and seconded by Isekhemen Francis Ozoya.
Party leaders described Oroh as a credible and experienced figure, noting that his previous tenure was marked by legislative contributions, employment opportunities for constituents, and development initiatives in key sectors such as education and healthcare.
They expressed confidence that his return would strengthen representation and accelerate development in the constituency.

They also urged other aspirants to step down and support his candidacy.
Oroh was further endorsed by various groups, including persons with disabilities, technicians, youth groups, and grassroots movements across Owan East and Owan West.
Speaking at the event, Oroh said his decision to run again was driven by a desire to address pressing challenges facing the constituency, including insecurity, economic hardship, and infrastructural deficits.
He stated that he has the experience and network needed to deliver effective representation.
The former commissioner under the administration of Adams Oshiomhole also pledged to prioritise the welfare of the people and support efforts to improve security across the country.
He expressed willingness to collaborate with both federal and state authorities, including the administration of Monday Okpebholo, as well as the private sector and international partners.
Oroh emphasised the need for stronger institutions, job creation through agriculture and commerce, and better utilisation of natural resources.
He also backed the establishment of state police as a way to tackle insecurity at the local level.
He expressed concerns over poor electricity supply in the constituency and promised to advocate for improved performance in the power sector.
Other key areas of focus in his agenda include the protection of human rights, free primary healthcare for mothers and children, social welfare for the elderly, and free and compulsory basic and secondary education.
He also promised to push for the creation of more Local Government Development Councils and greater financial autonomy for local governments.
The House of Representatives candidate hopeful, further pledged to align with the Renewed Hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in efforts to improve security and strengthen governance.
He called on party members and constituents to support his ambition, assuring them that he would build on his previous experience and work to deliver more impactful representation if elected.
