The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday, announced 838 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The health agency disclosed that FCT had the highest record of the fresh cases with-297, Lagos-253, Plateau-82, Kaduna-57, Katsina-32, Nasarawa-31, Kano-25, Gombe-24, Oyo-8, Rivers-8, Zamfara-7, Ogun-4, Bauchi-4, Edo-4, Anambra-1 and Sokoto-1.
The agency said seven deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,247 on Saturday to 1,254 on Sunday.
The data from the agency disclosed that 539 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 71, 034 while 12,126 cases were still active in the country.
NCDC explained that the discharges on Sunday included 225 community recoveries in Lagos State and 160 community recoveries in Kaduna State managed in line with guidelines.
