Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, announced 188 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 56,017 cases.
The agency also confirmed 1 new death as the deaths figure increased from 1,075 on Thursday night to 1,076 deaths on Friday night.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the new cases with-47, Enugu-25, Plateau-21, FCT-14, Abia-11, Delta-10, Bauchi-8, Ondo-8, Kaduna-8 and Ogun-6.
Others are Imo-5, Benue-4, Katsina-4, Taraba-4, Edo-3, Kwara-3, Oyo-3, Rivers-2 and Yobe-2.
The data from the health agency disclosed that there were 10,943 active cases while 43,998 patients had been successfully managed and discharged.
The agency also confirmed that Federal Medica Centre, GeneXpert Laboratory, Birnin Kebbi and Plateau State Human Virology Research Center (PLASVIREC), Plateau State have been activated for inclusion in the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Network
