Former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has officially declared his aspiration for the presidency on the platform of African Democratic Congress [ADC].
Nwajiuba, a seasoned legal professional and two-term member of the House of Representatives, emphasised the need for a “competence-first” approach to national leadership, focusing on experience, sound policy formulation, and effective grassroots governance.
With a background in law and governance, Nwajiuba highlighted his experience across legislative and executive arms of government, as well as key national institutions, which he believed had equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of governance processes and public finance management.
His presidential bid is expected to prioritise education reform, economic stabilisation, and restoring public confidence in government institutions.
Nwajiuba’s decision to contest on the ADC platform introduces a new dynamic into the presidential race, particularly as smaller parties seek to offer alternative leadership options to Nigerians.
This move is seen as part of a broader trend of politicians exploring new platforms ahead of the 2027 general election.
Nwajiuba’s presidential bid has garnered support from various groups, including Young Nigerian Voices, which has endorsed him as a credible candidate capable of driving economic growth and national unity.
