The Movement for Progressive Governance, MPG, has called upon Dr Emeka Nwajiuba, a former minister in the Muhammadu Buhari administration, to join the 2027 presidential race.

Rising from a strategic consultative meeting in Abuja ththion Friday, February 27, 2026, the group said that Dr Nwajiuba met all the criteria needed for impactful and transparent leadership that Nigeria direly needs at these critical times

A copy of the communique made available to this news medium, has directed all its members to prepare for serious.undergound mobilisation to pressure the former minister to join the presidential race

According to the statement, Dr Nwajiuba had multiple advantages of youth, vigour and vision, describing him as an embodiment of integrity, brilliance and indept knowledge of the problems of Nigeria and the solutions to them
The group commended Dr Nwajiuba for sponsoring a three day medical outreach that has provided opportunity for many people to have access to medical check ups to know their health status

The outreach which took place in the African Democratic Congress, ADC, National Headquarters in Abuja, had doctors and other medical personnel on hand to attend to people with various kinds of medical conditions with expert advice on how to take good care of their health

The group commended him for such gesture, which it described as “very rare and a unique innovation” in National politics

The communique, which was signed by its national convener, Alhaji Muhammed Mubarak and secretary, Hon Emeka Nwanko, vowed to ensure that Nigeria gets it right this time through quality leadership that Dr Nwajiuba can offer the people, as president

The statement further directed all its zonal and state structures to spread the good news of what it described as “a vista of new hope in the horizon”.
