The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Kwara has distanced itself from reports suggesting it endorsed any individual or political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ilorin by the state Chairman of the fellowship, Rev. Timothy Opatola.

Opatola described the body as neutral, apolitical, and non-partisan, stressing that it was not involved in any form of political endorsement.

“As a Christian body, we have no preference for any candidate or political party. Rather, we support a credible political process that provides equal opportunities for all Nigerians without discrimination.

“The organisation remains committed to offering prayers and intercessions for leaders and those in positions of authority, in line with Biblical injunctions as contained in 1 Timothy 3:1–3,” he said.

Opatola urged political leaders to govern with the fear of God while ensuring peace, justice, security of lives and property, and the general well-being of citizens across the country.

He also reaffirmed the fellowship’s commitment to encouraging Christians and other Nigerians to actively participate in their civic responsibilities, as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We will continue to pray for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections, national unity, the protection of citizens, and an end to bloodshed, violence, and insecurity in the country,” he said.
