Former Oluyole Local Government chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Olatunji Olaosebikan, has thrown his hat in the ring for the House of Representatives and sweetened the bid with a brand-new party secretariat, pledging to deliver a “resounding victory” for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Olaosebikan made the twin moves on Monday at the APC’s weekly meeting in Oluyole, where a packed crowd of party faithful cheered his declaration for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat.
The former Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor Lam Adesina said he is already building a cross-party coalition for Tinubu’s re-election, banking on the President’s Renewed Hope reforms to sway voters.
“I am mobilising support across party lines for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 2027 election,” he said. “Nigeria will vote President Tinubu because of several reforms he has put in place through the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Pitching himself as the unity candidate, Olaosebikan told party leaders that his candidacy could flip the local government for the APC up and down the ballot.
“Members of other political parties in Oluyole Local Government are already assuring me that if the APC gives me the ticket they will mobilise their members not only for my elections but also for all the APC candidates in next year’s election,” he said. “Many people in the local government have assured me that if I get the ticket for the House of Representatives, they will vote for APC in all the coming elections in the local government.”
As proof of commitment, he unveiled a new secretariat for the Oluyole APC, saying the progressive party deserved “a better and more spacious place for its activities.” The building will house offices for the chairman, secretary, state exco members from the local government, and other officers.
“With the spacious place now, our youths and our women can have a convenient place for their meetings,” Olaosebikan said.
On his legislative agenda, he promised to push “good development” for Oluyole, plus education support, job creation, and skills acquisition for youths. He pledged to help indigent students stay in school and provide targeted support for women.
The declaration, overseen by Oluyole APC chairman Prince Dotun Oladipupo, drew the constituency’s power bloc: Hon. Adeyemo, Alhaji Razak Akilapa, Hon. Muideen Abiodun, Hon. Ibrahim Olaifa, Hon. Moruf Lamolo, Hon. Tunde Elegbede, Ambassador Waheed Olawale Adewale, Hon. Kamorudeen Adeoye, and Hon. Alamu.
A long-time Tinubu loyalist, Olaosebikan vowed to “triple” the President’s 2023 votes in Oluyole come 2027 — and he’s betting a new party house and a Reps ticket are the first bricks in that wall.
