Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has called on the various support groups and organizations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to anchor their campaigns on the achievements of the prosperity government.
He gave the advice in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Yenagoa by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Doubara Atasi while granting audience separately to the leadership of the Christian Community Partners (CCP), Bayelsa Chapter and the Diri/Law Grassroots Movement.
Addressing members of the CCP, the Deputy Governor remarked that as an NGO that had taken the responsibility to galvanize support for the PDP at all levels, it should match its actions with set objectives to win the trust of the party and government.
According to him, the only way the group could achieve this is by being purpose-driven and make the landmark achievements of the Governor Diri-led PDP administration in Bayelsa the centre of their engagements with the electorate.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo equally urged the Diri/Law Grassroots Movement to have no other motive than working for the victory of the party in the impending elections as its sole agenda.

While encouraging the effective utilization of the social media in marketing the PDP, he, however, advised them to distinguish themselves from support groups of other political parties by avoiding the use of intemperate language.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo assured both groups of support, adding that the Special Adviser on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) would be directed to liaise with them to ensure they achieve their set objectives.
Briefing the Deputy Governor earlier, the State Coordinator of the Christian Community Partners, Rev. Ezekiel Oghenovo, disclosed that the main goal of the organization was to partner the PDP to ensure its victory at all levels.
Rev. Oghenovo said the CCP was a nationwide movement with a mandate to mobilize the Christian community across Nigeria to vote massively for all PDP flagbearers in the 2023 general elections.
In their joint presentation, the state coordinator of the Diri/Law Grassroots Movement, Comrade Sataria Ebiegberi, and the secretary, Barrister Abila Overcomer, explained that the organization was formed primarily to consolidate grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Douye Diri, and his deputy, Senator Ewhrudjakpo.
They noted that their decision was informed by the far-reaching strides made by the administration in human and infrastructural development in less than three years in office, adding that their chief objective was to reach all segments of the state with the gospel of prosperity.
