2023 Census: State advocacy committee sensitises Ekiti people

The Ekiti State Advocacy and Steering Committee for the 2023 National Population and Housing

Census says it is set to start advocacy/sensitisation tour of the 16 local government areas of the state.

The Chairman of the committee, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo, said this at the end of the committee’s meeting held in Ado-Ekiti.

Adebayo, who is also the Special Adviser to the Ekiti Governor on Budget, Economic Planning and Performance Management,
said the census committee would visit Ado-Ekiti, Ise/Orun, Emure, Oye and Ido/ Osi local government areas.

He added that the committee would be meeting with stakeholders in Ikere, Ekiti South West, Efon, Ekiti West, Ilejemeje and Moba
local government areas.

Adebayo said the committee would also meet in Ekiti East, Gbonyin, Irepodun/Ifelodun and Ikole local government areas.

According to him, the local government tour is one of the numerous programmes lined up by the committee to sensitise and
enlighten the public on the importance of population census.

“The sensitisation will also be on the need for Ekiti residents to present themselves for the exercise,” he said.

Adebayo said the committee would meet with the traditional rulers, community leaders and critical stakeholders in each of
the local government areas during the visit.(NAN)
