The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari Buhari to immediately withdraw the plan to spend N14.8bn on Internet access, stationery, telephone and electricity in the Presidential Villa, and to reduce the spending, given the country’s economic situation and level of borrowing
SERAP stated this on it verified social media page on Tuesday.
“2023 Budget: We urge President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately withdraw the plan to spend N14.8bn on Internet access, stationery, telephone and electricity in the Presidential Villa, and to reduce the spending, given the country’s economic situation and level of borrowing” SERAP said.
Buhari presented a budget of N20.5 trillion for the 2023 fiscal year to a joint session of the National Assembly last Friday.
He said a total expenditure of N20.51 trillion is proposed for the Federal government in 2023, which includes N2.42 trillion spending by Government-Owned Enterprises.
