Hamdiya Sidi Sharrif, an 18-year-old activist and resident of Achida in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has issued a public apology to Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto following the release of a controversial video in which she criticized the governor, his family, and the state’s handling of security and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

In a video obtained by the CONCLAVE, Sharrif acknowledged the inappropriate tone and content of her remarks, describing them as harsh and regrettable. “As a woman, a Muslim, and an indigene of Sokoto State, I deeply regret the unpalatable statements I made against the governor, his wife, and family. I sincerely beg for forgiveness,” she said.
She also retracted her contentious call for IDPs to forcibly occupy the Government House, admitting the suggestion was inflammatory and counterproductive.

“Nobody has the right to invade the Government House. I am very sorry for trying to instigate such disorder,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and order.

Addressing circulating rumors, Sharrif categorically denied claims of organizing women to form a terrorist group, dismissing such allegations as unfounded and urging the public to disregard them.
