Melancholy hit the family of Mr Igwebuike Dominic Offor on May 27, 2026, as their 15-year-old daughter, Chioma Marvellous Igwebuike Offor, went missing from Timber Housing Estate, Umuahia, Abia State.
Chioma had just gained admission into Abia State University, ABSU, and was learning hair braiding at a shop on the same estate when she disappeared.
—Last seen going to use washroom—
According to the family, Chioma left home around 10:30 am on Children’s Day wearing a dark blue Chinos jeans trouser and a vest polo top of ash and black colours, with a white round neck.
She got to her braiding shop and later told her “Madam” she was going home, nearby, to use the washroom, as was her routine.
“She told her Madam she was going home to ease herself as the place is close to the house and she never returned to the house nor the shop,” a family member said.
Chioma neither got home nor returned to the shop that day.
—Police report filed, family appeals—
The family has lodged a missing person report at the Central Police Station, CPS, on Bende Road, Umuahia.
They are now pleading for public help: “Please, if you have seen her or have any information at all, no matter how little it may seem, kindly reach out immediately. One message, one call, or one share could help bring her back home safely.” [Adapted from Sun newspapers]
