10th NASS: PDP members-elect adopt Wole Oke as Minority Leader of House Representatives

Ahead of the Tuesday’s official Inauguration of the 10th National Assembly members elect on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have adopted Hon Busayo Oluwole Oke , the Lawmaker representing Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State as the Minority Leader of the 10th House of Representatives.

Hon Oke, a ranking lawnmaker was the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the outgoing 9th Assembly

This was as 70 out of 116 PDP members voted for him for the position.
and resolved to send the resolution to the Acting National Chairman of the party after a Speaker of the House has been elected for implantation.

They resolution to the Acting National Chairman off the Party referred to the resolution of the Minority Parties Caucuses sharing the 4 Minority Positions among the 3 of the Minority Parties with highest number of Members which are as follows.

The PDP has Minority Leader and Minority Whip; the Labour Party has Deputy Minority Whip; while the NNPP has the Deputy Minority Leader.

The South West Caucus PDP Members-elect in the House of Representatives had last week written to the leadership of the Party and other Stakeholders and demanded that the position should be given to the zone.
