100 Days Benchmark: Adeleke keen on road rehabilitation/maintenance

The General Manager of the Osun Road Maintenance Agency, ORMA, Engr Zacheus Ategbero has hinted that Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, wants major roads across the State rehabilitated as part of achievements in the first 100 days in office.

Engr Ategbero dropped the hint during a chat with newsmen in his office.

The ORMA G.M said Governor Adeleke was in a hurry to fix and put roads in the nooks and crannies of the State in proper shape, saying it was the belief of the Governor that “good roads enhances economic growth and stabilizes commercial activities.”

Engr Ategbero stated further that the present administration was determined to give the road maintenance agency all the needed support to fix all the roads across the State to also save life and property that can be lost to road accidents as a result of deplorable condition of roads.

He stated further that work was already in progress by members of staff of the agency in the area identifying roads in the State which were in very deplorable condition and in need of urgent attention from the government.

While assuring residents of the State that the road maintenance agency would soon commence work on fixing roads across the State, the GM explained that roads that would be made as flagships to mark the first 100 days of the administration in office will soon be made public.

According to the GM, “Our Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke understands the importance of good roads as regards economic growth and safety of lives and properties. He understands that the existence of good roads is key in attracting commercial activities to the State.

“Mr Governor has charged us as an agency in charge of road maintenance in the State to gear up for serious work in terms of road maintenance and rehabilitation across the State. He wants all major roads across the State fixed and in good condition.

“We are excited about this because that’s it’s our major responsibility as an agency. Osun people are in for a good time in can say.”
