A 28-year-old mechanic, Kabiru Usman, has died following a tanker explosion at a workshop in Tafa, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred about 12:00 p.m. on Friday when a tanker under repair suddenly went up in flames.
The vehicle’s registration number and the identity of its driver had yet to be confirmed as of press time.

According to security sources, preliminary findings showed that Usman was working on the tanker when the explosion happened.
He was rushed to Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Memorial Hospital in Sabon Wuse, where he was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty who attended to him.
