A former member of the Nigeria Senate and member of the leading opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dino Melaye, has raised issues concerning the Astrazeneca vaccine imported by the Nigerian Government.

Four million doses of the Indian-made vaccine had arrived in Nigeria last Tuesday and the ekevant health authorities commenced deployment Friday, last week.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice president Yemi Osinbajo received their jabs on live television on Saturday, last week, to set national example.

Buhari had urged Nigerians to make themselves available for inoculation.

But Senator Dino Melaye, who stated that he was not discouraging Nigerians from receiving the jabs, raised issues as to why Nigerian government would settle fir the cheapest vaccine with the most side effects.
