President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday met with former Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers) and Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Both former governors are President Tinubu’s ministers-nominees.
But while Wike scaled the Senate screening, el-Rufai’s nomination has not been confirmed.
Wike came out of the meeting with the President around 1:40 p.m, while el-Rufai arrived at 2 p.m for his session with the President.
Sources at the Presidential Villa hinted that efforts were being made for the Senate to confirm el-Rufai.
Both former governors declined to address reporters after their separate meetings with President Tinubu and no official information was forthcoming on what transpired between the President and the ministers-nominees.
