The Presidency has issued a statement to explain away President Bola Tinubu’s fall while climbing a parade vehicle on June 12, Democracy Day.
The Presidency said that the President was not invincible.
“President Tinubu is not Superman; he’s human, just like the rest of us,” the President’s Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Onanuga stated that: “Even the most powerful leaders in the world, like President Biden and former President Obama, have had their own share of slips and falls while in office.
“President Biden has had several slips in the last three years. Even the younger Barack Obama slipped while President. Political leaders are human.”
The Presidency, therefore, urged Nigerians to focus on the significance of Democracy Day rather than the President’s momentary slip.
“Slipping should not detract from the import of Democracy Day celebration.,” the statement said.
