The police in Ondo State on Tuesday occupied the state House of Assembly complex on suspicion of a plan to impeach the deputy governor
Workers at the Assembly said they came early to work to see that security men have occupied strategic positions in and around the premises of the complex.
This came on the heels of the weekend defection by the state Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party.
The policemen were reportedly deployed in the Assembly complex, following the information that the lawmakers might have a rowdy session today (Tuesday) on the issue of leadership changes.
The police patrol vehicles were stationed in and around the premises of the Assembly complex.
As of 2.00 pm, there was no confirmation or information from the 26-member House of Assembly over the alleged plan to entertain the impeachment bid of the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
