Police neutralise three kidnap suspects, arrest one, rescue victim, recover fire arm, and ammunition in Nasarawa

The Police Command in Nasarawa State on Friday said that its operatives had neutralised three suspected kidnappers, got one arrested, a victim rescued, and firearms and ammunition recovered in a sting operation.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Ramhan Nansel said this in a statement signed for the Commissioner of Police Nasarawa State Command, CP Maiyaki Baba.

The Police said that on 13/4/2023, information was received that suspected kidnappers blocked Assakio-Sabon-gida road in Lafia East Development Area of Lafia LGA and kidnapped one Ezekiel Luka of Taraba state.

Police operatives attached to Assakio Division, led by SP Ekoja Elaigu, launched a manhunt for the abductors.

On 14/4/2023 at about 2pm, the Police operatives came in contact with the kidnappers where a gun duel ensued.

The suspected kidnappers bowed to the superior firepower of the operatives.

Three were neutralised, the victim was rescued unhurt, one kidnapper (Friday Orshio of Gidan Adamu, Assakio, Lafia East development Area) was arrested and one locally fabricated revolver gun and seven rounds of 6.72mm ammunition were recovered from the suspects as exhibit.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Baba therefore, commended the officers for a job well done and urged them to sustain the tempo and rid the state of criminals.
