The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to lead the resistance against any attempt to rig the 2027 general elections, accusing President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of being in “panic mode” ahead of the polls.
Speaking at a media chat in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, said the PDP’s forthcoming national convention in November, scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, would reset and reposition the party to reclaim power from the APC.
On the 2027 elections, Ologunagba stressed that Nigerians’ votes must count and warned that any form of institutional manipulation would be strongly resisted.
He insisted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must adopt electronic transmission of results to guarantee transparency.

“INEC must ensure a legal framework that makes electronic transmission from polling units mandatory so results can be seen in real time.
“Nigerians will no longer accept excuses of glitches,” he said.
Ologunagba dismissed INEC’s claim of technical hitches during previous polls, arguing that if POS machines and ATMs work even in remote parts of the country, there was no justification for failure in transmitting election results.
“We will not listen to stories about glitches in 2027.
“If POS works everywhere, then BIVAS must work too.
“Any failure will be seen as deliberate manipulation by INEC, and Nigerians will resist it,” he warned.
The PDP spokesman also accused the APC and President Tinubu of embarking on premature campaigns out of fear of the PDP’s revival.
He alleged that the ruling party has resorted to “endorsement shopping” rather than letting its record speak for itself.
“APC is jittery, that’s why they have started campaigning less than two years to the election.
“If the President is truly performing, he wouldn’t need endorsements; his achievements would speak for him.
“What we see instead is panic mode,” Ologunagba said.
