The Osun State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday berated the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state over its actions and inactions to be dictating the pace of governance to the subsisting administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, saying it lacks such power and authority.

It would be recalled that the Osun State chapter of the PDP, operating under Senator Ademola Adeleke Governorship Transition Committee, had condemned in a press statement on Tuesday the Oyetola led administration’s decision to employ 1,500 teachers to boost manpower in the education sector.

The chairman of the Osun State chapter of the APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun, in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, educated the PDP’s handlers that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not provide for the PDP transition committee the kind of policing role with sinister and insincere motive which cannot be in the overall interest of the people of the state.

Famodun reminded the state PDP that Governor Oyetola has been operating within the purview of his constitutional authority which is allowed in the four years of his first tenure that terminates on November 27, 2022.

He added that Oyetola who is accountable for his activities within his constitutionally allowed tenure cannot be distracted by any bunch of opposition group which is finding it difficult to know the scope of its activities with reference to the administration of the state.

Famodun asked rhetorically when it has become a sin or a misnomer for a sitting government to provide jobs for the teeming unemployed when there is no law in place that stipulates when and when not to recruit qualified teachers for the state.

In his words: “Must a government be stagnated because someone has been declared the winner of a part process of an election which is still a subject of litigation with three segments?

“Enough of this series of needless fuss from the PDP handlers over the steady delivery of the dividends of democracy by the workaholic and focused administration of the Governor Oyetola-led administration.

“The apparently idle PDP’s governorship transition committee should imbibe decorum, learn how to wait for its turn if it is the wish of God for its embattled and controversial governor-elect to rule the state and stop behaving like a drunken bull in a China shop”.

Famodun described the unsolicited supervisory role of the Osun PDP over the administration of Governor Oyetola as needless, worrisome, disheartening, laughable, irritating and constituting that of a meddlesome interloper.
