Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin, wife of the Oragun of Oke-Ila, Oba (Dr.) Adedokun Abolarin, is dead.

Olori Solape died about six months after the death of the king’s mother, Mama Mary Ibiteye Abolarin.

Mama Mary Ibiteye Abolarin died in November 2024 and was buried in February 2025.

Details surrounding the death of Oba Abilarin’s wife were still sketchy as of press time.

However, in a brief statement announcing her death, Chief Jibola Awoseyi Asojuoba enjoined the people of Orangun Oke Ila in Osun State to extend their condolences to the king at this time of difficulty.

“Gentlemen, it’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Olori Solape, wife of Kabiesi Orangun Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin.

“Please extend your condolences to our father and friend during this difficult time. May her soul find eternal peace.”

Significantly, the late Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin was the king’s only wife.

The bereaved King was once asked: “You have one wife while many monarchs have three, four or more. Why did you choose to be monogamous?

He said: “With what I am doing here, I can’t afford to keep many wives.

“If I do, I don’t think I will be able to do what I am doing.

“Each of them (wives) will be struggling to have their share of the empire.”
